Feature Tour and Getting Started

Foragr makes it easy to track activity around your content. Comments via Disqus, IntenseDebate, or WordPress; likes on Facebook; tweets via Twitter; and posts from WordPress are all sent to a single dashboard and stream so you can see what’s gaining traction and buzz.

How do you get started? It’s simple.

First, sign up for a free account and register your website on Foragr.

Second, you’ll need to install some code on your website. If it’s powered by WordPress, simply install our WordPress plugin and do some quick configuration. If you run on a different platform (Movable Type, Typepad, Drupal, home-grown, or other) you just need to insert a little JavaScript at the bottom of each page. Once registered on Foragr, you should see a link to Embed Codes on your Sites dashboard. This page will give you everything you need to get started.

Finally, you might want to make the stream of activity visible to your users. Why? Because our activity stream integrates cleanly with your existing design. Rather than having a section on the right-rail for articles, another for comments, and two more for Facebook and Twitter, show one clean stream of everything happening around your content. That’s what Facebook and Twitter do! You can even show a small one in the right-rail and a bigger version on your homepage. Look at the Embed Codes page for customization options.

Once setup, you can track activity on your personalized dashboard. For those on WordPress, the dashboard is integrated into the WordPress admin interface. Just look for “Foragr" under the Plugins menu. For everyone else, just go to Sites You’ve Already Registered on Foragr.com. If you’re interested in leveraging our REST API, drop us an email at help@foragr.com.

As we become part of a larger (and more widgetized) web, Foragr is looking to bring activity back to you, the site owner. After all, it’s your activity.
