About Us

Distiller Labs was founded in 2011 by Orion Reblitz-Richardson. With copious help from family and friends (thank you!), some late nights, and a great day job, we were able to launch Foragr on a tight budget.

The inspiration came when we saw how fragmented (and federated) the web was becoming. Facebook Like buttons share space with Disqus comments and local blog posts. All of these bits of content (and user interactions around them) live in their own worlds.

What if we could bring that together and back to the site of origin? What if we could then use this unified activity stream as a springboard to increase engagement on-site? We are at the early stages of this vision, but are already excited about what we can offer. For more details, take our feature tour.
